But I like the idea of a grid for note-taking or categorizing ideas. There is the overarching theme (title) and then subtitles and headings to address different points. 

Creating a "life story" as a timeline. I would first have students write it down on paper before transferring it to Padlet. Students would write what they believe are important moments in their life. Since then, I have gotten used to seeing this (haha).

I think that connected learning is the most career-focused type of learning I've ever read about. It literally has students do things according to interest, interact with peers that they may encounter in the future, and then results in possible opportunities in that field.

In my opinion, relevancy is one of the most important things in education. Connected learning is all about relevancy as it's linked directly to interest. I think what makes this learning model better than others is that it allows for individualization and more student choice as students explore within the interests. It also alleviates the pressure of the teacher being the "expert" on everything because the online community then helps to fulfill this role. So, as a teacher, they are able to focus on the assessments or skills they are trying to build with the students through participation in connected learning.
