How can I offer purposeful options for students to show what they know?

To offer purposeful options for students to show what they know, I can have students focus on learning outcomes without assessment because if goals are shared stated and met, students can learn important aspects of the lesson. Additionally, instead of an assessment, we can have students prove what they learned with a presentation, a poem or song, making a model, making a blog post, a venn diagram or a poster.

How can I engage all students in my class?

To have students engaged, goals and objectives need to be relevant, valuable and authentic. This means giving learners choice and autonomy. Another way would be to use tactics that support psychological and behavioral engagement by allowing technology as a tool for collaboration, class blogs, discussion boards and VR. Lastly, foster collaboration and engagement and promote beliefs that help motivation.

How can I present information in ways that reach all learners?

Using the multiple means of representation is the best way to reach all learners. Content should be presented in different ways, not just lectures and reading through a textbook. Other ways of presenting information include using images, videos and even through physical objects. Turning on subtitles in a video helps students who struggle with auditory learning. Providing digital dictionaries allows students to look up what certain words mean if their vocabulary is weak. Headphones are a great way to present auditory information if students need to repeat the recording or video.
