Partnership between Woodland Community College and Woodland Joint for dual enrollment. Students are able to take college courses while still in high school. One of the most significant benefits is the cost savings — students can take these courses without having to pay for tuition, textbooks, or expensive exams. Unlike AP classes, Dual Enrollment guarantees credit as long as the student successfully completes the course. This not only saves families money but also gives students a head start on their college journey, helping them reduce the time and cost needed to complete a degree. Additionally, students gain early exposure to college-level academics, boosting their confidence and better preparing them for the transition to higher education.

Lake Tahoe Unified School District has a strong partnership with the United States Forest Service/Dept of Agriculture. Many families have at least 1 adult employed by the USFS. The USFS works with the school district from K-12 by bringing in employees that teach grade level standards. mostly in science/environment. In the elementary schools, parent volunteers are needed at help run activities/stations. Many high school/community college students get internships especially for summer season.

One issue that I would like to improve is to get more parent volunteers at sites that don't have many. The cost of fingerprinting, lack of transportation, and language barriers are why there is less participation.
