Throughout different eras these roles develop and change and are based on how society perceives women, which how they think young girls are supposed to act. In earlier times, Disney portrayed princesses like Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, who were seen as housewife's and a damsel in distress. As time went on, movies like The Little Mermaid, show that women can be brave and are curious to see what else is out there. The movie, Tangled shows where we are today and the evolution of how women are looked at how, you do not always need a man by your side.
