The four Industrial Revolutions each changed how people live and work. The First Industrial Revolution in the 1700s moved work from farms to factories, with steam engines and machines leading to city growth but also tough factory jobs. The Second Industrial Revolution in the late 1800s used electricity, steel, and assembly lines to make mass production possible, creating more jobs and stronger labor movements. The Third Industrial Revolution in the late 1900s brought computers, the Internet, and automation, which reduced factory jobs but increased service and technology work. Now, the Fourth Industrial Revolution is happening, with AI, robotics, and the Internet of Things combining the physical, digital, and even biological worlds. It creates new opportunities but also challenges, since some jobs are being replaced by machines while people need to learn new digital skills.
