I was quite surprised that I was able to complete the project in one day as I thought it would be very tough to make the model by myself without planning. I did not plan as I wanted to improvise and think on the spot about the materials to be used and the location of these materials. I cannot believe that the results were quite satisfactory (for me) for something made only in one day as I am usually my biggest critic. This activity made me realize that if I put my mind and effort into it, I am able to complete anything quickly. This activity was different from my classroom learning as it was a very individual project. I did not have anyone else beside me to consult or be able to look at someone else's project. All in all, I quite enjoyed the project and I hope that I will score well on it.
-Nadine

I was surprised that the process of making the transport video was quite simple yet interesting. I thought that it would be a more complicated and tedious process than it was.
I cannot believe that I actually enjoyed editing the video and explaining the different processes in a video format, as I expected this task to be trickier due to the new method of presentation of information we used. I instead struggled more with the content for each transport type, not really knowing what to film for osmosis and active transport, etc.
Watching the processes occur (and recording it) was very insightful, and this activity subsequently made me realise that diffusion, osmosis and active transport are quite common all around us as long as we pay attention to our surroundings and look a little deeper for it.
This activity was different from my classroom learning as aside from my critical thinking skills, it also exercised my creative abilities like recording good videos and editing it together nicely in a visually pleasing and digestible yet informational way. It was much a much more hands-on, interactive assignment compared to something like doing a worksheet about the transport of substances in the lab.
An activity like this, different from what we regularly do, was certainly enjoyable and educational for me and I hope to do well in the grade I get for it.

Looking back on the process of making the video on the types of passive and active transport - osmosis, diffusion and active transport - that we’ve been learning about, along the way, a few things surprised me:
1) I realised I surprisingly had a solid grasp on the concepts of these processes. I managed to, mostly without referring to my notes, write out how osmosis, diffusion and active transport occur and the real life applications of them
2) It was actually really fun to work on because there was a bit of animation I had to do which was quite different from videos I have edited before,
3) and I even found myself researching more about how these processes can be carried out in our everyday lives which was quite interesting to find out more about.

I cannot believe how relaxing the task was as I honestly thought that I would struggle a lot and stress over it with my partner, however this did not happen and we were actually quite happy throughout the making of this video and in addition it was also educational and I managed to learn from this process. Since we were pleasantly surprised by how much we would like making the video, the quality of the video came out quite nicely rather than how I initially thought it would turn out - looking rushed and unprofessional

Throughout the making of this video, I realised that these processes really aren’t as far from us as we imagine, it’s taking place all around us, inside us and everywhere. The task made me think deeper about the applications to real life

it was very nice to take a break from staring at a textbook all the time and a much more pleasant and hands-on activity that I enjoyed doing. It was different to tasks in class and doing my own notes at home and the end result was rewarding and me and my partner were proud of it, we put a lot of effort in piecing all the clips together and it was a much more memorable activity than usual, everyday class assignments.

1) I was surprised that the three types of process are found everywhere in real life situations. I was able to find the 3 process really quickly in the house.

2) I cannot believe that the video making was really fun to do as I thought it will be a tiring process to do. I was able to add music and sound effects to the video which was quite fun.

3) The activity made me realise more about the processes. For example, since I like drinking tea, I found out that tea bag is a partially permeable membrane. It is also a combination of diffusion and osmosis which is also very interesting.

4) This activity was different from my classroom learning as we get to learn things from everyday life at home. It was also an experiment I can do at home which was also convenient and easy.

Overall, I really enjoyed this activity and it really helped me to learn things in a fun way. I hope I can score well and do well for this assignment.

1) I was surprised
that there were so many different types of carrier proteins and how different yet similar all the different processes of movement of particles were and what they travelled across or consisted of.

I was surprised by how simple I thought making this video would be, but faced many challenges along the way and made many retakes. I had lost or broken some of my pieces and it was exciting to improvise and choose between things to use to demonstrate osmosis, improving and train my problem-solving skills.

I was also surprised by how particles moved about to reach the proteins and the different substances they move through using different processes.

2) I cannot believe
that there are so many different ways that particles or substances can be transported about systems and the world. How different they all are and how not all of them are or are not required in different situations. Although I have known of osmosis for an extremely long time, I'm still intrigued by how water moves to solutes and how the processes work.

3) This activity made me realise that
visualizing these processes makes them much easier to understand and entertaining to learn about. It gave me a better outlook of how active transport and facilitated diffusion take place. There are many different types of membranes, proteins, particles and purposes for them.

4) This activity was different from my classroom learning
as I was able to channel all my creativity into this at my own time and pace, for as long and with as many materials as I liked. I enjoyed the freedom and curiosity that went into my research and the set-ups. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of making the video and what I had learned from it. I hope to have more projects like this in the future.

1) I was surprised that I could understand all the concepts of different transport processes, active transport, diffusion and osmosis so quickly and I was able to apply them to the real-life situation. Also, I did not know that there were different transport processes related to my cultural background. This was surprising as many things that I did not realize as the movement of particles involved transport processes.

2) I cannot believe that this making-of video actually helped me to take the exam by helping me to efficiently remember the definitions of each process and real like examples. By making this video, I could remember all the informations and concepts of each transport process. Especially by describing how the processes actually take place in real life, the concepts I could not remember when I was looking at my notes naturally got into my memory.

3) This activity made me realise my style of learning. As the contents I struggles to memorise on notes were easily remembered just by making one video, I realized that the learning style I was doing was not suitable for me. This activity was not only a fun activity for me to do but also a great opportunity to recognize and discover my learning style.

4) This activity was different from classroom learning because I was actually able to have fun while studying for this project. While in the classroom, not all the contents are as interesting as these kinds of activities. This activity made me relax from all the assignments and tests, also helped me to remember relatively hard content.

In conclusion, this activity helped me to practice my thinking skills as I was able to think back at my daily life and find out about different transportation processes in real life. Also, it helped me in communication skills as my partner and I worked really hard, exchanging opinions with each other. In addition, I learnt that the method of teaching others or visualizing contents was more helpful for me to learn and remember the hard contents and syllabus that required me a lot of memorization such as active transport.

It was also surprising and fun that all of these processes happen in my body.

2) I cannot believe that learning can be so much easier if I approach it more lightly. Making a video with a friend was not burdensome at all, so this topic was much easier to understand and even fun.

3) This activity made me realize that I should pay more attention to the little things in my life. Even when I'm not conscious, these processes are happening in my daily life. I think it's a very big opportunity for me to develop my thinking skills to stimulate my curiosity through situations that happen in my daily life.

4) This activity was different because when I applied the 3 different processes to my real life, it approached me more friendly and easier to understand. Also because I was making the video individually with my friend, it was much more enjoyable. When there were things my partner and I could not understand, we would question each other.

I was surprised that the sheer number of things I can find from everyday usage that involve the three transport processes, and that I was able to put them all next to each other for the video with minimal planning and little time needed. I was honestly avoiding this activity during the holidays, using all my procrastinating power to push it further and further away as at face value the activity sounded quite difficult.
I cannot believe that it was so simple to find examples of the passive transport processes but so difficult to find a recordable example of active transport that I could find in every day materials.
This activity made me realise that when faced with an issue and no one to help or ask advice from, I am quite simply a headless chicken that takes far too long to come up with a solution to my problem, this problem being trying to find something that demonstrates active transport in every day life. I did however come up with a poor solution to my ever so disheartening endeavour and I do hope I find a way to cope with this personal problem of mine very soon.
This activity was different from my classroom learning as I had the freedom and time to choose to engage the activity in whatever form or method I wanted to, there was little stress on whether or not if I had made a mistake there wouldn't be enough time to restart and redo the activity. I had plenty of time to do whatever I wanted and try many different things, that quite definitely enhanced the experience.
