         <title>Motor Stength </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Motor strength is the strength and mobility of muscles. It is ranged from a grade of 0-5, the normal range is 4-5. The motor strength includes the upper extremity, lower extremity and bilateral strength. Its parts include the biceps, hips, knees etc. An assessment should be done if a patient is feeling a weakness in the ability to move their muscles. The assessments you would conduct to assess the motor strength are the stretching movement of muscles.          <title>Hearing</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The normal range of hearing is 20 to 20,000 Hz and 0 to 180 dB, however anything over 85 dB&nbsp; is damaging to the ears. 0 dB is silence and sounds around 180 dB are a shotgun blast or rocket lift off. Hearing loss is when only sounds above 30 dB can be heard.          <title>Peripheral Vision </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The peripheral vision is the side vision of the eye, meaning that it is seen or viewed from the side of the human eye from looking straight ahead. When peripheral vision malfunctions, or fails, it is known to be a part of an underlying health condition, such as glaucoma, a disease where fluid builds up inside the eye and creates pressure, and retinitis pigmentosa, a rare, genetic, group of eye diseases that negatively affects the retina. A type of test, or the most common test for peripheral vision, is the use of any source of light in the different parts or areas of your peripherals.          <title>Pupillary Response </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Pupillary response is a physiological response that varies the size of the pupil, via the optic and oculomotor cranial nerve. The normal pupil size in adults varies from 2 to 4 mm in diameter in bright light to 4 to 8 mm in the dark. The pupils are generally equal in size. Pupillary light reflex is used to assess the brain stem function. Abnormal pupillary light reflex can be found in optic nerve injury, oculomotor nerve damage, brain stem lesions, such as tumors, and medications like barbiturates. The swinging flashlight pupil test compares the response of your pupils to light. The lights in the room will be dimmed, and again you will be asked to look at a faraway object. The eye doctor will “swing” the light from one eye to the other in a rhythmic motion, recording the responses of each pupil.<br><br>- Ines and Eduardo</div>]]></description>

         <title>Reflex </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Reflexes are an automatic action that your body does in response to something without even thinking about it. If a ball was thrown at you, your instant response would be to move away quickly or dodge the ball fast. If you were to let the ball hit you instead of moving that would be a problem. If you don't have the proper reflexes your fine motor skills would be slow. In order to check if your patient has proper reflexes you would need to hit them with a medical hammer in the knee and see their reaction. If they pull back then that was a correct response, if the reaction was delayed it needs to be taken note of.&nbsp;<br>- Anderlyn and Jordin</div>]]></description>

         <title>SENSATION- A physical feeling resulting from physical contact with the body (touch).  Feeling numb out of nowhere is an example of when your sensation is off. Being numb is a loss of feeling of a part in your body so if you can’t feel a certain body part that would be the time to get assessed at the doctor. One way to test sensation is if a patient can identify a pin on their body. If the patient can identify or feel the pin, that is a sign of loss of sensation. Another test is when you have to identify the number or letter drawn on your hand without visually seeing the symbol be drawn. If you are struggling to identify or to feel the symbol being drawn, that is another sign of loss of sensation. -Jasmine D and Neo</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Coordination is the ability to properly use and direct your muscle groups to execute complicated actions such as walking, running, swimming, etc. A doctor can perform an assessment by testing if you can do certain simple things like walk in a straight line or balancing on one foot.          <title>Gait</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Gait is someone's way of walking. If someone falls a lot, is imbalanced, or staggers, it may be signs of a neurological condition, especially in seniors, or something is damaged in the patient's body. To assess someone with a gait problem, a doctor would see how a patient walks and sees how hard they step, walk, and speed. Someone out of normal range would be staggering, falling a lot, and/or stumbling. Someone within a normal range would walk with both legs in a rhythm.&nbsp; The doctor would assess how the patient walks and possibly check their walking heart rate to check for any problems.&nbsp;<br><br>-Marc-Authur &amp; Erica</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The facial nerve controls the muscles that help you smile, frown, wrinkle your nose, and raise your eyebrows and forehead. This seventh cranial nerve performs motor and sensory functions. When the facial nerve is damaged, resulting problems are Facial Muscle paralysis, weakness, or twitching of the face. To inspect your Facial nerve function, look for asymmetry in the face, for your eyes close them and gently try to pry them open from the upper eyelid.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Normal vision acuity is 20/20 vision meaning you can see clearly from 20 feet away. 20/30 to 20/60 is considered poor vision.&nbsp;</div><div>Extraocular muscle function is a = test which tests for defects and uncontrollable movements in the eye. During this test you move the eye in 8 different directions to check for proper functioning.&nbsp;</div><div>There are four basic types of eye movements: saccades, smooth pursuit movements, vergence movements, and vestibulo-ocular movements.&nbsp;</div><div>Some assessments that you would conduct to make sure a patient eye movement is okay by testing; eye muscle test, visual acuity test, refraction assessment, visual field test, conformation exam, manual testing, color vision testing, slit-lamp testing, retinal exam, direct / indirect exam, screening for glaucoma (measures the fluid pressure inside your eye), applanation(test measures the amount of force needed to temporarily flatten a part of your cornea), noncontact tonometry(method uses a puff of air to estimate the pressure in your eye). &nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;- Kayla &amp; Isaac</div>]]></description>

Myopia is the abnormality for eyesight which means you can only see clearly up close and blurry from afar. While hyperopia is when you can see father clearly and up close blurry.
