My dad would always read to me before bed. It was always a fun book and he would use goofy voices when reading them. I appreciated this time with him and I think his creative way of reading the books helped me remember them.

This was one of the first chapter books I read all the way through. I didn't want to put it down and I read it multiple times after. This book made me realize chapter books could be fun. It became one of my favorite books for a while and it helped open me up to pick different genres of books to read.

We had everything a kid could want growing up from Barbies and baby dolls, an air hockey table and a kitchen set.

My sister and I would spend hours in our own little world in the basement playing house and having imaginary lives.

During summers when I was younger I would spend a lot of time at my Grandma's house. One of our favorite things to do together was baking. We would bake brownies, pies, and all types of cookies. She had all of her recipes written out on a note card which she kept in one big binder. One of my jobs to do while baking was to read the recipes to my Grandma. I remember it being so hard to read her cursive/sloppy handwriting.

Every year my family tries to go on a trip to a beach or the Lake of the Ozarks. Going on these family vacations make me happy and I love getting to create memories with my family every summer. It is hard for my family to all be together at once during the rest of the year so I look forward to spending quality time with them in the summer.
