When I remember my best teachers, they are patient, kind and explain things very clear. They make me feel not scared to ask questions. I think a good learner is someone who always try, ask question when not understand, and don’t give up fast.

Learning a language is same like other subject because we must practice and remember. But it is also different because language is for communicate with people, not only for exam.

I want to learn 5 new English words every day and try to use it in class or with friend

I think it is important for students to set their own goals. For me, I want to practice more speaking with my friends. When I have my own goals, I feel more interested to learn.

I want to learn English because I need it for my studies, for my career, and also to connect with people from other countries. When I remember these reasons, it gives me more motivation to continue learning even when it is hard.

In the classroom, I promise to: Respect teacher and friends , listen carefully and participate in activities, do my homework on time and help classmates if they have problems.

I believe if we all respect and support each other, the classroom will be a positive and happy place to learn.

Teacher-centered education means the teacher control almost everything in the classroom. The teacher talks, explain, and students just listen and do work alone. This way makes the classroom more quiet and orderly. Students also not easy to miss important topics because teacher guide them closely. Also, students can learn how to be independent because they must do the task by themself. However, this method also have some problems. Students cannot practice communication and teamwork since they only work alone. The class may also become boring if students only listen all the time. Moreover, they don’t get many chances to ask question or show their own idea.

On the other hand, learner-centered education is very different. Here, students and teacher share the focus. Students do more group work, ask questions, and discuss with friends. They can learn communication skills, collaboration, and also be more active in class. Many students like this method because they feel more interested and enjoy learning. Still, it also has weakness. Sometimes the class become noisy and hard to control. Teacher need to manage many activities at the same time, and this is not easy. Also, not all students like group work, some prefer to work alone. Another problem is, when teacher not explain everything, some students maybe miss important points.

Because of this, many teacher today believe it is better to mix both methods. Teacher-centered style give more order and clear explanation, while learner-centered style make students more active and motivated. If teacher use both together, students can enjoy the good part from each method.

In conclusion, teacher-centered and learner-centered education both have strength and weakness. For the best result, it is better to combine them so that learning can be effective, balanced, and enjoyable for students.

Students don’t really create their own knowledge. The professor also act as the evaluator, the one who check and judge the answers. The focus is more on getting the right answers and doing well in exam. Most of the time, assessment is through test that got objective marks. The culture here is more competitive and individual, because every student just focus on themself.

Meanwhile, in learner-centered paradigm, students play a bigger role. They don’t only listen but also involve actively in the learning. They ask questions, discuss, think critical and try to solve problems together. Teacher here is more like a coach or guide, not only the one who give all the answer. Teaching and assessment are also connected, and the purpose of assessment is to help students improve. Students also can show learning through project, paper, portfolio or presentation, not just exam. The culture is more supportive, cooperative and collaborative, where teacher and student learn together.

In conclusion, teacher-centered paradigm is more controlled and serious, while learner-centered paradigm is more flexible and student-focused. Today, many teacher prefer learner-centered because it help student become more active and independent. But still, sometimes it is better to mix both style, so learning can be more balance and effective for everybody.

In my opinion, learner-centered classrooms are better for me because I enjoy talking and working with friends. But sometimes teacher-centered lessons are useful to understand new topics clearly. The best way is to use both approaches together. Students can get order and guidance from teacher-centered methods and also enjoy activity and teamwork from learner-centered methods. A balanced classroom helps students enjoy learning and understand better.

Even if students become more independent, they still join classroom lessons. The teacher is not removed but becomes more like a guide or helper. This balance helps students learn better while enjoying their language learning journey.
