Project-based learning is a teaching method where students learn by engaging in projects. Students will be given a topic and timeline for completing the assignment. Students will research or investigate the given topic and work to create some form of a project in which they will share ideas and experiences with others. These projects will allow students to demonstrate what they have learned about the given topic.
Project based learning helps "students develop deep content knowledge as well as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills".

The purpose of the geography fair is to show families and school staff what students have learned. Families will get a chance to come visit their child's classroom and see what their child is doing in school. It will encourage families to work along side of their child helping them when needed. This project will allow students to work on something that interests them and present it in a way that are excited about. It will encourage the child to research and gain a deeper knowledge of their chosen content.
