Students will be given a topic and timeline for completing the assignment. Students will research or investigate the given topic and work to create some form of a project in which they will share ideas and experiences with others. These projects will allow students to demonstrate what they have learned about the given topic. 
Project based learning helps "students develop deep content knowledge as well as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills".

Guidelines- Students will compare at least 3 different places in 3 different regions around the world. They should include information about the climate, vegetation, animal life, and natural and physical features. Students should also describe food, clothing, and types of shelter used. Please include pictures or examples. Talk about what it is like to live there and what place is most appealing to you and why?
Strategies for families to support students:
  • Be sure to ask questions about the project
  • Ask students if and how you can help
  • Provide a guide and/or timeline to keep student on task
  • Allow child to practice presenting project
