This song holds deep significance for me because of its calming, almost therapeutic effect. There's something about the melody, the lyrics, and just the overall atmosphere of the song that resonates on a level I can’t fully explain. When life feels overwhelming or emotions run too deep to handle, some people turn to substances to escape or experience a sense of euphoria. For me, this song provides that same kind of emotional release and understanding without the harmful consequences. It’s my haven, a moment of peace in chaos.

PRIDE.

“Pride” is significant to me because it brings me back to a time in my life when because everything had fallen apart, everything seemed to be in place. I had everything I could want: success in school even though I was bullied, I was at the top of my game in soccer, even recognized as the best in the state because I was so desprerate to prove to people that I was better than what coaches had treated me, and everything felt like it was going wrong, but right. Yet, what makes this memory stand out is the quiet "peaceful" anger I felt. I was alone, but not lonely because I had my pride about school and soccer(Ironic, I know). The song reminds me of that rare, calm contentment with the bad in like, where nothing was empty, but full of meaning.

Insomniac

“Insomniac” holds a special place in my heart because it reminds me of the first time I truly felt lonely and not just alone. I had felt emotionally distant in a way I hadn’t experienced before. I wasn't talking to people, I would always choose to be by myself, even though I wanted to feel connected with others. It was a time when things felt heavy, and I didn’t really know how to cope with it. But this song, in its own warm and reflective way, felt like a gentle reminder to keep my head up, even though everything was falling apart.

“Like a Tattoo” takes me back to what’s easily been the best time of high school so far: December 2022 to May 2023. That stretch of time felt almost magical. The World Cup was happening, club soccer was at its peak, and it was my favorite year of school soccer. Everything felt alive and passionate, like I was part of a genuine community, built on love. This song brings back the emotions and memories of those months. late nights training, big dreams of playoffs, and the sense that I was exactly where I was meant to be with who I was meant to be with.

Imagination

“Imagination” holds a lot of meaning for me because it was my go-to study song from 6th to 10th grade. The simplicity of its instrumentals and the calm vibe made it the perfect background track to help me focus and stay locked in on schoolwork. It became more than just a song; it was part of my routine and acted as a quiet motivator that helped me push through late nights studying and tough assignments. Because of this, I'd say it’s one of the key reasons I’m even in this program today.
