Throughout the year, we have participated in some really good literature circles.  Now we are going to do an online literature circle.  I am going to open this up with the first question.  Throughout the week, I would like you to come up with some questions related to some of the themes in Lord of the Flies.  Savagery is a big theme in this novel

I will go ahead and ask the first question.  What are some examples of savagery in Lord of the Flies?  What are some examples of savagery in real life? I use that for an example because people do it for their own personal gain. Cut her throat. Bash her in." These uncilivalized boys' harsh words shown that they had gone wild. The boys weren't raised in the right manner, so they expressed their instinct. In another word, humans deep down were originally savage. Similar to the real world, most aggressive murders result in missing conscience and uncontrollable compulsive savagery in them.

They were filled with anger to follow through with murdering a few people . This implies that the police are gonna keep doing it if they can keep getting away with causing someone pain. In "Lord of the Flies" and example of savagery is when Jack killed a pig and enjoyed it. He says "There was so much blood, you should have seen it!" This shows that he enjoyed causing an animal harm.

He becomes obsessed over not having the strength to take the life of a living being, in this case being a pig. After his second encounter with the pig he is able to kill the pig. What he did not acknowledge was that when he took the pigs life he also killed a piece of his morality as well. This making him snap and seek comfort in his animal instincts turning him primal. There are many instances where something happens in someone's life and we see it but it doesn't seem important to us. Then to later find out that the one incident we did not put much importance into because it seemed so inconsequential to us was actually that persons trigger. 
This incident has happened here in Colorado when the columbine shooting happened. The two teens that decided to cause harm to there fellow students and staff. They were in a way triggered by traumatic events that were happening in their lives. These events made them snap and cause harm to those around them. -Y.T.U-10
