Edenbrooke was written by Julianne Donaldson in 2012. The book was nominated for the Best Romantic Book at Goodreads Choice Awards, but Fifty Shades Freed won, which I find really surprising and also disappointing.

The characters live in England in the 19th century, so this book is a historical-romance.

The book is about a girl, called Marianne Daventry, who has a really boring life in Bath with her grandmother. The plot starts in 1816, when Marianne's sister, Cecily, invites Marianne to join her at a wonderul country estate. Marianne accepts the invitation, because she hopes, that she will have time to relax and enjoy the opportunities of the countryside, while her sister is trying to win for herself the charming heir of Edenbrooke. Marianne mets the heir of the estate accidentally and even more time they spend together the more they fall in love. She feels desperate, because she don't want to ruin her sister's plan with Philip Wyndham, the handsome, polite and kind-hearted heir of Edenbrooke. At the end, after all the problems, Cecily accepts their relationship, so they can live happily in this amazing estate.

Humor, charming characters, full of love and also history is involved, this is a book I highly recommend, mostly for romantic people. It was written in a way that you’re able to get lost in the story and forget that you’re reading, so it can be also read quite quickly.
