I had really liked this book which is odd considering I am not the biggest fan of the historical fiction genre. I really liked the fact of the author using a country in Asia that really isn't that well known. Some people may not have even heard of Cambodia before reading this book. I liked the concept of story being towards a wartime in life. But like in most historical fiction books that I have read, some parts just want to make you go to sleep. It gets kind of boring have to read almost five pages or less of just somebody walking. I really like how it shows that some towns in Cambodia are running low on certain resources to keep them alive, forcing them to move into other towns with sort of low resources themselves. It was a really enjoyable book to read if you are interested in some of the less wealthy countries in Asia, and what happens to those certain types of countries in wartime.
