Emmett Till's case exemplifies a common case of racial prejudice that was carried strongly throughout the 1950s. Emmett Till was accused of insulting a white woman who pointed Emmett Till out as the culprit. This "insulting" case was in reality just Emmett Till waving and saying goodbye to the woman, which she took offense to, once again highlighting the racial barriers of the 1950s. Emmett Till was identified as "the one", then was taken away by the white men and later released on the account of his being innocent.

Till deserves better. The boy was only 15 years old and imagined being kidnapped in broad daylight, not knowing what he had done wrong. It must've been traumatizing for him, too. As for the 2 men who kidnapped the boys, you guys should've asked him first or brought out the evidence.

We believed that the defendant tried to protect 2 of those white men by using racist fear and claiming there wasn't enough proof. THey said things like “your forefathers will turn in their graves” if the men were convicted and argued there was no real motive or clear ID of the killers. The prosecution, on the other hand, said Till's killing was brutal and cowardly.

UGHHHHHHH.. they called it an execution without a trial and begged the jury to find the men guilty... that's so weird. eeugh.

The jury was all white and all male, and the South was extremely racist at the time. Even with strong testimony from Moses Wright, it was sadly common for white men to get away with violence against Black people. The system was built to protect them and that's SOOO unfair.
