Hello! I am a biochemistry major expected to graduate spring 2022.
Next, I would like to go get a masters in neuropharmacology and do research in drug development, ideally eventually antidepressants.
I grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma but moved to the Woodlands, TX for the last x2 years of high school.
I like to cross-stitch/embroider, play games, and run.
I learn best by watching, doing, and conversating about it.
I tend to be more quiet and observant, but have been trying to push myself to participate more!
Unfortunately the last book was my organic textbook lol! very interesting right!
I watched Wonder recently - the new ish disney movie, and it was great, I enjoyed every second of it.
I definitely tend to lean towards health/wellbeing type service projects.

Hello! I’m an accounting major planning to graduate 2023, but if I get into the MACY program my junior year, I’ll be here till 2024. hopefully, i'll join the IRS as a financial investigator or work my way up a large corporation. I don’t really have a hometown; my dad was in the military, so we moved around a lot. Some of my hobbies are reading, playing tennis, and making coffee, which is normally my job, but ever since the campus Starbucks shut down, I’ve been doing at home for fun. I learn best with a hands-on approach, but I also learn pretty well through reading. The last book I read was a Game of Thrones, which I wouldn’t recommend unless you have enough time and patience on your hands to go reread sections every 10 minutes due to the sheer volume of different characters! I watched “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” recently, which I would only recommend if you don’t get grossed out by the thought of an excessive amount of food everywhere! Some areas of service interest for me are helping underprivileged schools and veterans. Finally, one last fun fact to leave with everyone, I have red – green color blindness, and normally can’t see purple. So, here is picture of me a few years ago wearing color blindness glasses for the first time!

Hello! I am a computer science major planning to graduate in 2023. After graduation I would like to pursue a masters in Game Design, and eventually begin a career in the video game industry. I was born in Austin, but have spent almost my whole life in San Antonio. I enjoy building Gundams, swimming and playing video games. I feel I learn best when I'm actually applying what I'm learning to real life. I tend to be pretty quiet and reserved, but I hope to still be quite involved throughout this course! The last book I read was Silent Spring(I was reading it for tutorial), which I would NOT recommend. Its not that its bad, just that I found it very, very boring. The last movie I saw was Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix. I've currently been rewatching all the Harry Potter movies(I've only even seen the first two before this). In my opinion, they don't really get good until Goblet of Fire. I definitely have an interest in public education, particularly making Information Technology and Computer Science more available in public education, especially underfunded areas.

Hi everyone! I'm currently about to graduate after this Summer 2020 semester with a major in Global Affairs with a minor in Politics and Law. While there's so much I want to achieve and experience, I see myself traveling the world and helping people, so my next step is studying international law in a foreign country! I'm originally from Dallas, and grew up being very interested in the arts (art, history,etc) and earth science, leading my hobbies to surround painting (creative expression in general) and being in nature. I am a very visual and repetitive learner, as I need to see things worked out, and then write it all down myself in order to fully get it. I'm not sure about my exact personality type but I would say I'm pretty hardworking, enthusiastic, and optimistic, but I can also be very introverted and observant at the same time.The last book I read was a THICK textbook about the Constitution of the United States (wouldn't recommend), and the last movie I saw was Tangled (very much recommend). In terms of service I tend to lean more towards the environment (I STAN sustainability) and people's health (food, health education, etc.)

Hi! I am an English major and plan on graduating in Spring of 2022. Following graduation, I will begin teaching high school English and will hopefully get my Master's degree soon after so I can teach Dual Credit courses through a local college. I'm from San Antonio and enjoy dancing and painting in my spare time. Despite my creative interests, I prefer a structured learning environment that leaves little open to interpretation. I consider myself to be very shy in person but do enjoy assuming leadership once I'm comfortable with my peers. Imaginably so, I read quite a lot as an English major. As a result of this, the last book I read is "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau. It was painfully detailed but also very interesting as he takes readers on his journey of becoming self reliant. The last movie I saw is a documentary titled, "Catfish" on Netflix. I found the documentary to be very good and it provided some well needed comic relief. Lastly, I enjoy service projects that relate to children and the mental health of those that lack resources to care for themselves. I look forward to getting to know all of you and hope everyone is staying safe! Birds up! <3

Hi! I am a Political Science major and I will be graduating this summer. In the fall, I plan on going to law school and also maybe getting a MBA later on. I want to specialize in business law to help out my family's business and also start my own law firm. I am also very interested in criminal justice, so I am still looking at career options in both business law and criminal law. My hometown is San Antonio and my hobbies are to sing and dance. I also have been doing karate professionally for more than 13 years, and it has been a huge support for me in my life. Making certain goals helps me stay on track, so I really try to stick with them as much as possible. At the same time, I also love exploring new things and trying them out to see whether I will like it or not. One thing that I do a lot is multitask. I really do juggle a lot of work but I also enjoy being busy because it keeps me active. During quarantine, I have been binge watching many movies and series. A series I have been watching on Netflix that is pretty entertaining is Money Heist. A service project that I have been interested in doing is teaching children self-defense and karate in the community. I feel that all people should learn of some ways to defend themselves, and I also think that this would help children be more interested in karate and other martial arts in the long run.

Hey everyone! I am double major Biology (Neuroscience Concentration) and Medical Humanities, planning to graduate in Spring 2021. I plan on attending Medical School in 2022 where I hope to become a physician (do not know what specialty yet). I come from a small little town called Poteet which is an hours drive south of San Antonio. I am a outdoors type of guy so I like to go camping, hiking, and fishing when I have some free time. My learning style if very adaptable I like a combination of on class instruction with the ability to apply what I learn immediately with an hands on type of experience. Not entirely sure what my personality type is but I am a "go-getter" when it comes to projects and like to put plans into action and purpose. The last book I read was my Biochemistry text book which was pretty interesting if your interested in biological mechanism pathways (nerdy/who would read that I know but its not that bad). Last movie I saw was a re-watch of Suicide Squad. I really like service projects that are sustainable and serve
unrepresentative and disadvantage communities. I would really like to be a part of a project that can directly impact the livelihood of members in the community!

Hi guys. My name is Thu, you can call me Riona. It's nice meeting everyone. I'm transferred from Northwest Vista, currently a senior Chemical Engineering and planning to graduate in Spring 2021. I plan to work in Renewable Energy and Bio-engineering, and hopefully, I will come back to apply to graduate school soon. I migrated to US in 2011 and San Antonio becomes my second home sweet home. I love science , music, traveling, reading, gardening and music. I see myself as extremely introvert. This is a part that I don't like about myself and try to put myself out there to connect to people. My last book that I found it interesting and would recommend is "Evolving Ourselves" which is about evolution and the understanding of complexity that defines us as human being, also it takes us into the lab of today's highly innovative molecular biology that explore the futures of humankind. The movie I always recommend everyone is Forest Gump- very classic and popular. I want to serve in project to help for environmental conservation and help on third world countries in Africa.

Hello everyone!
I barely joined so I am new but hi lol! I am a rising sophomore planning on graduating may 2023 in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Bioengineering and Materials Engineering. I plan on pursuing acceptance into an MD/PhD program or a PhD program in the future and working in a biomedical research tech company in the future. I have lived in San Antonio my entire life and have come to appreciate everything the city has to offer. I enjoy hiking, fishing, reading books, and playing video games in my free time. Furthermore, I am involved in academic research here at UTSA which is always fun to experiment and learn various research techniques and concepts. I am largely introverted; however, I have shown to grow more these past few months and am trying to be more engaged with others and am looking forwarded to this class with Y'all. One book recommendation I have is One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I feel this book largely helped in the edification of my life and understanding my purpose and the struggles we have of repeating history and our sins. The last show I watched was Avatar: The Last Airbender which was amazing and a great trip back to memory lane. I look forward to working with all yall and hope we can be a productive cohort and aid our city in these odd times.

Hi! I am a mechanical engineering major planning to graduate in 2022. I hope to either work at the Southwest Research Institute or in the aerospace industry, but I haven't fully decided yet. I was born in New Braunfels, Texas, and have lived there my whole life. I enjoy reading the occasional novel (though not as much recently), playing video games, or spending time with family or friends. I am more of a visual learner than anything else, but writing things down helps me remember things better. I am a reserved, observant, detail-oriented, and laid-back kind of person. The last book I read properly was 1984 by George Orwell, and I would recommend it. It gets a little freaky at times but it has a compelling message. I don't remember the last movie I saw, so I guess it wasn't that great. I don't recommend it. I'm interested in serving physically or mentally handicapped people, but I wish I was better at it.
