Robots are more consistent than humans meaning they are not making mistakes. This means there will be less worker accidents. However, it will still cost money because it costs the owner money to run and maintain the robots and also, they are trying to make money. A solution to this is Universal Basic Income or UBI. The idea of UBI is when everyone over the age of 18 is given a guaranteed amount of money each month to cover the cost of living. As UBI is a recently introduced idea, it is not determined what it is or it should be. However one version of UBI is that each person is given just enough money to be above the poverty line. In the US, this is $1000 a month or $12,000 a year. The way it works is taxing the companies selling fossil fuels. Starting off by taxing them by $15 a metric ton and slowly increasing the fee by $10 a metric ton every year. In order to make money, the companies will have to increase the cost of their products, making it more expensive for the buyer. This discourages people to buy these products and encourages them to look for environmentally friendly options that are cheaper. The money that has been collected from taxing the companies will be equally shared back to everyone each month.
