For example, families would sleep in cars or sleep on trains. They would also struggle to find food for their families and try to find new places to live. The Great Depression also affected African Americans bc the Jim Crow laws determined how they lived. African Americans had a 60% greater chance of unemployment. People also lived in Hoovervilles and used Hoover Blankets. Photographs also showed sporting events and different activities people did or encountered.
