How has colonialism contributed to your country's issue being unresolved?

The modern unresolved issue of Ghana is a result of scarcity of water because of colonialism. Colonialism has a big part of the issue being unresolved because when colonialism happens in a country it takes something away from the country even if the country has recovered from it there is always something that has been taken away and I feel like for my chosen country I feel like it is the resources which have not been for people to get access to water base on where they live or economic status. and The main reason why ghana is going through this problem is because of slavery that took place in ghana which I thing scar ghana because the slave castle was where the slave master beat slave and even slaves did not get to drink water which I think cycles down to the problem today base on my inference about the slave castle that was what I got from it. according to (Ghana's Slave Castles: The Shocking Story of the Ghanaian)

The Article states that Several factors contribute to the lack of safe water access in Ghana. Most people rely on surface water sources, which frequently contain life-threatening parasites and high microbial content. In some regions of the country, the water has significant water discoloration and contains dangerous minerals. During the dry season, many areas suffer from water scarcity. The evidence that I have chosen connects to the enduring issue because from reading the evidence you can see how the lack of safe water access in Ghana contributed to most people relying on surface water sources which are very dangerous and unsafe to consume in your body which you can see is the result of scarcity within the water.

The country that I have chosen is Ghana. It was called the Gold Coast before being called Ghana. originally there were tributes one of them was called the Asante tribe they were the people who fought out the European and British settlers out of the country. Ghana was colonized British and it started in 1874 and ended in 1957. My country's road to independence was not easy but it shows that my chosen country would never give up because they had a belief and pride that when they got independence the future would be bright for the country and for the rest of African to follow along. Even when it was a struggle my chosen country never took no for an answer. The independence of Ghana was on 6 March 1957, the leader of the movement for independence was Kwame Nkrumah.

The modern-day issue my chosen country faces is a scarcity of water. This occurs because Ghana has a huge problem with water access and people who can not afford the cost of buying water. This makes them use unsafe routes of getting water. According to the article, it states that affordability concerns are also central to everyday water access in Accra, although this important consideration nonetheless continues to fall outside of many definitions of “safe access” to water (JMP, 2017b). Taking affordability concerns seriously requires that we understand the issue differently. It hurts communities that are low income and living in remote places. The scarcity of water in Ghana started in 2010 according to (Water Scarcity Beyond Crisis: Spotlight on Accra - IJURR

https://www.ijurr.org ›. ) There is so much pollution in the water in the country which makes it harder for the people to get water. According to the article, it states that it states that While some African countries suffer from a lack of water, Ghana suffers from too much-polluted water. The problem lies in a lack of functioning water filters. The government plans to replace these defective filters, but the costs can run to an estimated $35 million. Despite this, the government is going ahead with the project with the support of outside companies, such as Native Energy and NGOs. according to (8 Facts About Ghana's Water Crisis | The Borgen Project

https://borgenproject.org ›. )
