Matter can be a solid, liquid, or gas. Solids have a definite volume and shape. Liquids have a definite volume but not shape. Gases however do not have a definite shape or volume.
Mass is the amount of matter in a object. You can find the mass by multiplying the volume and density of an object.

Relative density is the amount of matter an object has for its size. Foam has particles that are evenly parted so that it can float. However, metal has tightly packed particles so it sinks.

Solubility is the ability to be dissolved. A solute is a substance that dissolves in a solvent. A solvent is a substance where a solute dissolves in.

Magnetism is an object with has an magnetic field that is attracted to magnets. For example, iron, cobalt, and nickel are magnetic.

Conductors are objects that allow heat to pass. It can allow electricity depending on material. Insulators does not allow heat to pass through easily. Such things like wood and rubber.

Citations: Science Journal

Refraction are the energy waves that bend or change direction and speed as they pass from one type of object to another type.

You can demonstrate refraction of light are glass that are called lens.

The Sun, Moon, and Earth are part of the Solar system. They each have a pattern within them or together.

The Moon, Sun, and Earth are in charge of the Moon phases. The Sun's light bounces of the Moon to Earth. While the light is reflected, the Moon revolves around the Earth creating the eight phases of the Moon, known as the Lunar Cycle. It cycles through every 29 days.

The Moon and Earth make ocean tides. On Earth, there are two high tides and two low tides. They are caused by the gravitational pull of the Moon and is basically the repeating rise and fall of water at bays and oceans. Neap tides are the lowest tides while spring tides are the highest. It occurs every day.

The seasonal cycle is made with the Sun and the Earth. When the Earth revolves around the Sun on its axis, four seasons occur every year. The four are spring, winter, fall/autumn, and summer. The revolution time is 365 1/2 days.

The day and night cycle happens with the Sun and Earth. As the Earth rotates on its axis, one side faces the Sun. This side is day. The other side which is dark is night. This pattern occurs every 24 hours or one day.

Another pattern that occurs with the Sun, Earth, and Moon are eclipses. When the Sun, Moon, and Earth are aligned in that order, it creates a Solar Eclipse.

Citations: Science Journal
Stemscopedia
