Elementary School

I grew up with the same kids in my small town all throughout Elementary School. I knew every kid in my class and was extremely outgoing. My parents would describe me as "the life of the party" because I was always making up funny dances to show my parents and their friends. Everyone knew me as this bubbly, sweet girl.

Mental health

However, around 3rd grade I was diagnosed with pretty severe anxiety. I was always able to hide it at school but my parents knew how bad I was struggling. They would take me to therapy and I was put on medication but nothing we tried helped. Once I got to Middle School, my mental health deteriorated fast. I know longer knew everyone in my classes and was in a scary new environment.

Dance and performing

As I continued going to struggle, my parents were willing to do anything to make happy and help. Towards the end of 6th grade, I became interested in dance and the performing arts. My mom took me to dance lessons and later I tried out for a performance company. I met so many new friends and knew performing on stage was my passion. It helped bring some of my confidence back and got me back out of my shell throughout middle school.

Caroline

I met Caroline in 7th grade and she has been my sister ever since. She knew everything I was going through and I knew I always had her to lean on. I had never had a best friend like that before and I'm forever grateful for her. I eventually got her into dance as well, and later we began performing together, We're genuinely inseparable, even now that we're both in College. I know she's always just one call away.

Covid

Covid was painfully boring and became difficult at times because I couldn't dance or see my friends. However, it gave me a chance to figure out other hobbies I love and discovered a lot about myself. I began to be more comfortable with being independent and doing things by myself.

Junior + Senior Year

Junior and Senior year changed me a lot for the better. I became really involved in the gym, got into modeling and joined sports teams at school. I was figuring out who I was and made a lot of amazing friends. I gained so much confidence but was also really worried about moving to North Carolina and being in a brand new environment all over again.

My Faith and Family

My family is the most important thing in the world to me and I wouldn't have gotten to where I am without them. My parents worked tirelessly to find ways to help me throughout my childhood and finally I was able to find ways to improve my mental health as I entered High School. I also began to improve my Faith and get closer to God. Then Covid hit...

College + Kappa Delta

I have had a better freshman year than I ever could've prayed for. I rushed this year and am now a Kappa Delta. I've gotten really involved and was elected for a few positions as well. I have made the best friends here, met my boyfriend, and my 2 best friends Liv and Ashlyn. I've learned so much since moving to North Carolina and I'm so proud of who I've become.
