Interdependence
- A program like Link Crew leverages the different strengths of student leaders to facilitate smooth transitions for new students to a high school

Healthy Relationships
- At my school a few years ago we had a group of at-risk boys in Grade 9 so I was part of a group of male teachers who worked together to establish some activities and events to involve them in more positive ways in the fabric of the school

Firm & Fair Practice
- The consistent treatment of students, staff and parents by administrators is an example of firm and fair practice. If individuals are treated inconsistently then certain people may feel targeted or feel like they are not a part of the group if they perceive unequal treatment

Accountability
- Maintaining standards for students, partially based in their own vision for an inclusive school, can be easier to do when those agreed-upon principles and consequences are developed partly by students for students

Student Voice
- facilitating a Student Forum Day to to involve students in outlining a vision for their school
