This week Reception have started the new term so enthusiastically and have been discovering the life cycles of butterflies, humans and frogs!

We have read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and our writing this week has been all about what he ate. In maths, we are learning about numbers from 10 to 20.

Year 1 and 2 have started our new Computing topic.

This week, both Year 3 and Year 4 have thoroughly enjoyed exploring science through hands-on experiments.

Year 3 investigated how light interacts with different objects. They tested a range of materials and experimented with various light sources to see how light behaves.

Meanwhile, Year 4 took their learning outdoors, where they explored solids, liquids and gases by experimenting with different balloons. This practical activity helped them understand how materials can change and behave in different ways.

PE days for Year 3 & Year 4 are Tuesdays & Thursdays 

Year 5 and 6 began a new science unit on Living Things and Their Habitats.

Pupils investigated biological classification and examined how animals are organised based on shared physical characteristics. The lesson focused on vertebrates, identifying them as animals with an internal skeleton and a backbone. Using a selection of images, we  introduced the five major vertebrate groups: mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. The children then considered distinguishing features such as body covering, method of reproduction, and thermoregulation  to classify the different animals.

It was a great start to the new term!

We are proud to celebrate Connie from Year 5 for her fantastic recent Stagecoach performance.

Connie took on one of the lead roles, playing the character Commodore,  a brilliantly funny role that had the audience laughing throughout the show.

Performing with a microphone made Connie feel very professional, and she rose to the occasion with confidence and enthusiasm. She delivered an amazing performance and, most importantly, thoroughly enjoyed herself on stage.
