{About} Main Character

The main characters are Erin, Journey,Spam,Lysa, and Rachel. The book is written in Erin's perspective, and Erin is the protagonist, we are rooting for her to solve her mother and her teachers murder case, because what's happened to her makes us want to support her throughout the book. Erin is kind, risky, stubborn, and smart (she specials in forensics and DNA).Journey is a boy at Erin's highschool, who got tangled into the mess of murder cases due to Erin's witnessing him at the crime scene of her teacher, who was killed. He is a kind, sweet, self-doubting, and brave character.Spam and Lysa, are Erin's best friends who stick with her and help her solve the case. Although they go through thick and thin throughout the story, they always are there for one another and getting into trouble as Erin's assistant detectives. Erin needs these girls, not only do they give each other support and comfort, but Spam is a tech expert who helps Erin hack into devices to get more info that the police haven't found.Spam is bold, fierce, dramatic ,and comforting girl. Lysa is a sneaky girl, she is also shy, stylish, kind, stubborn . Lysa will listen in on her dads conversations as a lawyer. This gives Erin and Spam lots of info, Lysa
also has a lot of knowledge on laws and punishments for certain crimes, which helps the girls not get caught and stay out of most of he dangerous crimes. Lastly Rachel, she was the best friend of Erin's dead mother, she took in Erin when she had no where else to go. So she is Erin's mom in the story, she is overprotective (as Erin describes her)but kind, and caring.

There are many important locations in the story, one of them is Erin's room. She has a room with a walk-in closet, inside of it there is a beige knot on the ceiling that blends in to the color of the paint on the ceiling. When she pulls it down, a ladder outstretches and leads to her attic. Up there, awaits a setup of dusty boxes, to make it look like the attic hasn't been touched, there is a lamp next to a red leather coach, in the shady back corner that cannot be seen until the lamp is turned on. A rug can be visible with he light, secretly there is a sketch of a chalk body outline underneath the rug, Erin did this because it's all she has left of her mom, the outline and some pictures and furniture, she just wanted to feel close to her. On the opposite corner, there is a safe with a lock on it, it contains a stolen crime scene evidence box from Erin's mothers murder. And Data and evidence for her theories for her teachers murder, along with her notebook.
In the story Erin, and her friends go to high school, the local places are Battery Burger (Spam, Lysa, and Erin's favorite restaurant), Papa Johns, and Shoe Haven, a show store, which has every type imaginable, it's Lysa's favorite store. I can infer that the story takes place around the 2000's, Spam uses a flip phone, and tech equipment is heavy, but there are laptops and phones so it must be around this time.

{About} Lesson from story

Erin learns how she won't stop trying to solve Ms.Peters case, but she realizes she also can't take her small simple moments for granted. And the story ends with Journey calling her beautiful and making her smile. Her simple good feelings are what the story ends with, instead of her twisted , strained, compelling mind. So the lesson is simply, stay in the moment, and appreciate the little things that make you smile

{About} My favorite part of the story

My favorite part of the story is, the end when Journey tears up and calls Erin beautiful. This is because they have been through so much and just to be there in that moment, and say something so simple but so enlightening, it's like covering all their worries for just a single moment. But this is so sweet and after all the intensity that's been going on with Erin, just ending with a simple yet perfectly fitting sense of happiness, let see the reader close the book with a smile. Because I love being able to end the book but make my own continuation, so we can just imagine what might happen next.

Erin has witnessed two murders in her life, so the smell of lots of blood is shocking, unsettling, and scary to her. In the very beginning of the story she describes the smell of murder or lots of blood, like shoving you face into a vat of pennies. She gets almost hypno by this scarring scent to her.

The main conflict in the story is about Erin being able to solve her mothers murder case and her teachers murder case. She wants to do this because she's always wanted to know more about her mom and she feels like she owes it to her. And for Miss P. Erin thinks that she owes it to her as well, because part of her feels like it's her fault. She has to get through obstacles preventing her from solving this mystery, but she never quits. This is what's preventing Erin from being simple am happy.
