 Fredrickson & Roberts (1997) objectification theory provides an outline for making sense of what it is like for females to experience sexual objectification of the female body in a sociocultural context. The framework is important for the research and intercession of protecting women and overall improvement of their lives in a world where the female body is objectified and is said to equate to the females worth through her body’s appearance and sexual role. The Objection theory hypothesizes that women are commonly treated as objects to be used by others and need to be sexually appealing both physically and emotionally, to be valued they need to be sexually appealing to fulfill the males sexual desires.
