1. The writer attracts reader's attention by using certain questions that writers used to think when they are about to write an essay. By this questions the writer empathize with readers.
2. The beginning stage of writing is a time to discover your ideas and plan how to present them over subsequent drafts, and there is more than one effective way to discover and plan: through freewriting, brainstorming, elustering and outlining.
3. There are two types of writers, planners and discoverers. The first type, consider the structure and content of their ideas before writing in the paper. They revise the writing one, two or the times it is necessary. The discoverers are the writers that do anything else. They use messy drafts, or write unrelated ideas, to the objective of clarify their ideas or writing.
4. The author describe 4 methods that might help to clarify ideas and plan how to present in a article or essay. These are freewriting, outlining, brainstorming and clustering.
5. Freewriting: "it involves writing down words as fast as possible without concern for exact phrasing, grammar or spelling."
Outlining: "It begins with a statement of the essay's thesis. Then it includes the topic sentences of the body paragraphs and their supporting ideas."
Brainstorming: "They jot down their thoughts in whatever order their occur."
Clustering: "Planners work more sistematically than discoverers and organize their ideas from the very beginning. One way they generate and organize ideas it through a different version of brainstorming, called clustering".
6. Because there iis not a structured process with always the same procedure, it changes from person to person and to situation to situation.
7. This question echoes the introductury sentence: "You are staring at a blank page or computer screen and encountering familiar questions: How do I start? What do I have to say?" I think the author includes this question in order to understand that doing that is a waste of time and that instead of just staring, you should so start doing something, even if you might have to change it later.

1. In the introduction of the text, the writer tries to attract readers' attention by using some questions that point directly to the reader. Questions such as “ How do I start” can give a hint about the sub topics the reader will come across ahead in the paragraphs. Moreover, the text seeks to give the person who is reading an important role so we can identify ourselves in the topic. We see this when the paragraph does not start with the typical words such as “Nowadays” or other similar connectors. Instead, the attention of the reader is caught by the use of the pronoun “you” and the text immediately speaks to us as if asking for an answer.

2. In paragraph 1 we think the thesis statement might be the following: “The beginning stage if writing is a time to discover your ideas and plan how to present them over subsequent drafts, and there is more than one effective way to discover and plan: through freewriting, brainstorming, clustering, and outlining.”

3. The two types of writers that are introduced in paragraph 2 are the planners and the discoverers. The planners are the ones that consider the structure and the content of their ideas before they start writing. Usually, they revise their work only once or twice. On the other hand, the discoverers are the ones who create messy drafts and unrelated ideas. However, they progressively change and reshape their drafts and ideas.

4. There are four methods that writers use in order to start writing these methods are:
freewriting: The idea behind this method is writing down as many words as possible without thinking about grammar, after that the writer can decide which ideas to use and discard.

Brainstorming: Writers jot down their ideas in whatever order they occur, after that they highlight the most important ideas and discard the irrelevant ones.

Outlining: It begins with a statement of the essay’s thesis. Then it includes the topic sentences of the body paragraphs and their supporting details. Not only does this type of outline help structure the essay, but it also provides a preliminary set of topic sentences for the first draft.

Clustering: It starts with drawing a circle in the middle of a page and writing a word or a phrase inside of it, that idea should lead to related ideas, each circled and then linked to the first circle by a line or a branch.

5. In paragraph 4, in which the “freewriting” method is described, we think that the topic sentence is the following: “It involves writing down words as fast as possible without concern for exact phrasing, grammar, or spelling.”

In paragraph 5, it is mentioned the “brainstorming” method, in which the topic sentence would be “They jot down their thoughts in whatever order they occur.”

In paragraph 6, where the “clustering” method is mentioned, we think that the topic sentence is the following: “It starts with drawing a circle in the middle of a page and writing a word or phrase inside the circle.”

In paragraph 7, where is mentioned the “outline” method, we think that the topic sentence is: “It begins with a statement of the essay's thesis. Then it includes the topic sentence of the body paragraphs and their supporting details.”

6. He refers to this famous writer to emphasize that there is no correct formula for writing, the writing process will be different in any person and there is no particular secret that will ensure the success of a story.

7. In the concluding paragraph the author asks “Why stare at a blank page...”. This tense also appears in the introductory paragraph but in an affirmative form “you are staring at a blank page...” so they eco each other but have different meanings. The affirmative tense as we explained in question number one was used to attract the reader's attention to let them know that everyone shares similar problems at the moment of starting to write a paper, but it also implies that they are not serious obstacles. While the second one speaks to the reader to let them know that there is no point in wasting time staring at a blank page if it is common that a writer has to mend some aspects ando do many drafts before the final version. It seems that the text tries to prove and recall the point of the introductory paragraph saying in other words that there is no right or wrong method for writing.

1. The writer attracts the reader's attention by posing a quite common context in which people may encounter themselves trying to convey something and not coming up with the necessary words they want, therefore, by asking simple questiones releated to that, the reader inmediatly gets aware and interested.
2. The last sentence in paragraph one.
3. The planners and the discoverers.
4.
Freewriting: writers (mainly discoverers) start writing everything that comes to their hands only with the goal of keep writing things, and not pay attention to structure or punctuation, for example. This may be done twice or more times until they get clear with their ideas.
Brainstorming: (or listening ideas) here writers jot down every idea they come up with, arrange and highlight the most relevant ones and they organize it again, making another brainstorm to shape their first draft.
Clustering: this method is more advanced than brainstorming since planners make use of it. Here you have to draw a circle and write down a phrase in the middle, then jot down other phrases (also circled) until you have a cluster of ideas. Then the writers organize and choose the best ones to consider and then make another cluster of ideas.
Outlining: Here you have to identify a statement of the essay's thesis, then you have to write down the topic sentence for each paragraph and finally add supporting details for each one.
5.
6. Since this author is the very example of planning and revising your writing before doing anything else. He states clearly that there is not a unique method to arrange your work since you may check it onece, twice, thrice and even more times. And also, giving this author as an example serves as a supporting fact for the arguments presented, since effiency is the hallmark of the writing process, not underestimating the beginning process.
7. This sentence echoes the very forst sentence in the first paragraph. The author includes this question to then answer it and the concluding part of their writing.
