Chanukkah is the Jewish festival of lights. It is over a period of eight days and starting on the 25th of Kislev. This is probably one of the most well known holidays because of its close relationship to Christmas. Chanukkah is actually one of the least relevant major holidays to the Jewish people and their history. The story is not even in scripture, but in the Book of Maccabees. This book isn't considered scripture to any Jew. The only religious thing for this is the lighting of the candles each day.
