It was suggested at the meeting that in exchange for Hitler's peace, they would allow the annexation of Sudetenland. Great Britain and France pressed Czechoslovakia to hand over Sudetenland, which was not present at the meeting. Hitler betrayed the pact and invaded Czechoslovakia almost six months later. Slovakia joined Germany after breaking away from Czechoslovakia.
