Before a Rhyme Time session this week, I was talking to a group of Mum's about this course. I mentioned how I had just read about the importance of talking and listening to their children and how by observing their children's play you can build their confidence by letting them determine what they want to do and when they want to leave an activity. During the session one child let me know she didn't want to join in the rhymes but would rather dance with my oversized bear. I asked her would she like to dance? She said "Yes', we both started dancing then stopped. By the second song we had six very shy little one's dancing and singing along to Old MacDonald.

I have found it interesting as we navigate this module to reflect on my personal experiences with serve and return, something I think I am quite good at, but never had a name for. I think when you look at parenting groups the parents and children having these serve and return conversations seem to have the closest relationships/most secure bonds from an outside perspective at least.
