I also didn’t know granite is what formed our country and I didn’t realize how close we were to a what you’d call a scar on the surface of earth that was lava I dont remember much of it I just know it was pretty long.  I thought it was interesting how geologist can determine how long a rock is by just looking at the different levels it has or what type of material was formed their millions of years ago. Something I would like to learn more about is lava, I think it’s a really cool thing to study as well as volcanos.
