The occupation and ideology can helped him develop the identity of people.
Four stages are:
1.) Identity diffusion-this is the status of people who have not yet experienced crisis or made any commitment. An example is that they are afraid to experiment or do things, like someone trying to skydive or get married to someone you do not really know.

2.) Foreclosure- this is the status of people who have made commitment but not experienced a crisis. An example of this is someone got married but has not experienced a crisis of death or something else.

3.) Moratorium- this is the status of people who are in a middle of a crisis but whose commitment is vague or absent. An examples of this is people experiment with things, but never find anything that makes them happy.

4.) Identity Achievement- this is the status of people who have been thru a crisis and made a commitment. An example of this is people commit to marriage but have a hard time finding somethings that make them happy.

With this people can tell where they are in there identity development.Theses stages help me understand his theory about identity development and how it is within other people.

I feel like I am in the foreclosure, the reason being is I have made big commitments with going to school full time and having a job. I have not experienced anything like a crisis, I also think if I do not step out of my box and do things that may be considered a crisis maybe I can be more well rounded.

How does a child of genius fit into the world of his peers or even of his parents?

From the article it seem that he was homeschooled thru high school, so the possibility could be he has no friends or anyone but his family around him. But if I used what is in my text, it seems that if he had no friends he did not meet his social needs as a person. He had a strong family but that does not mean he was not lonely because he had no friends. The teachers seem to be more of an authority figure rather than friends to him.

Is a prodigy the product of nature or nurture?

Well he is both, the reason being is that he can remember his ability to teach himself to read at 18 months is a sign of high ability in an area that makes him gifted. He has strong family support which helped him practice and be so smart. So you can say he is a product of both, the high ability to read at 18 months is future and the strong family around him and practice is nature.
