They tell stories of African Folklore, African Proverbs, and Traditions.

Baby names often tell a story.  For the Kikuyus, names are passed down through the family, beginning with the paternal side. Since English is used in official and business settings, it is also considered an official language and taught in schools. It is likely that an EL coming to the United States from Kenya would be comfortable with English and accustomed to hearing and speaking more than one language.

Its eastern coastline has a low elevation and is marked by clear water and soft, white sandy beaches with a warm temperature all-year-round. This part of Kenya is a major tourist destination; visitors can enjoy the relaxing Indian Ocean, cool breezes, and culture of the Mijikenda people of Kenya. 

As you travel further inland towards the mountainous region in the southwest portion of the country, higher altitudes provide more moderate temperatures year-round, despite the country's location on the equator. The most populous tribes of Kenya can be found in these regions.

People who fled war-torn Somalia live in the desert areas of the northeast region of Kenya, which border Somalia

Many famous Kenyan long distance runners come from the Kalenjin tribe of the Great Rift Valley. This valley extends from southwestern to the northwestern portions of the country. Rift Valley is known for the “thinner air” of its mountainous region, which provides the runners optimal training conditions for long distance running.

Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi, lies in the southwest portion of the country and is surrounded by several of the more populous tribes of Kenya such as the Kikuyu.
