Curely is the bosses son. In chapter 2 it says " Thats the boss's son, he said quietly. Curley's pretty handy. he done quite a bit in the ring. He's a lightweight, and he's handy." (Steinbeck 26). Also he has a thin brown face, brown eyes, and Curley hair. It says this in chapter 2 page 25 ,"..a tho young man with a brown face, with brown eyes and a head of tightly curled hair. He wore a glove on his left hand, and, like the boss, he wore high-heeled boots." ( Steinbeck 25).

The boss's son is Curley, a thin, young man with brown eyes and curled hair. Curley is a tough guy and often gets in fights with people. Not a lot of the workers on the ranch are too particularly fond of him. Curley is also rude to his co-workers, this is why they don't like him. He's also small, because of this he doesn't like big guys, hence how he was acting towards Lennie. For example in chapter two, when the old guy was talking toGeorge he told them a little bit about Curley, such as, " '...Curley's like a lot of little guys. He hates big guys. He's alla time picking scraps with big guys. Kind of like he's mad at 'em because he ain't a big guy' " (Steinbeck 26). His ego is too big for his own good. He is offensive of himself and his wife Candy. He also does not get called out for being rude to his co-workers because he is the boss's son. Curley will most likely be the main cause of the trouble later on in the book.

Curley's wife is young , pretty and flirty to the other farm workers. "..Yeah. Purty but…. Well, she got the eye." (Steinbeck 28). Many workers have noticed her flirting and talking to the other men such as Slim and Carlson (farm workers). So far, Curley hasn't found out about how his new wife is acting towards these men. When she asked the men in the bunkhouse, about where Curley was Slim had told her that he was in the his house, showing that she mainly only wanted to go see George and Lennie "the new workers".

Curly is an ex boxer and the bosses son. He doesn't like people who are bigger than his so he always gets in fights with people like Lennie. Most of the workers on the ranch don't like Curly. Slim in in charge of the grain teams. The people he works with respect him. A quote from the book is, "There was a gravity in his manner and a quiet so profound that all talk stopped when he spoke" (Steinbeck 33). Slim wears blue jeans and a denim jacket like most of the other workers. He has large hands, black hair, and his face was ageless.

Curley is the son of the boss. He is not very well liked among the workers at the ranch. He is also an ex boxer, therefore, he's quite rough and pretty rude at times. George is especially not fond of Curley. " 'This guy Curley sounds like a son-of-a-bitch to me. I don't like mean little guys' " (Steinbeck 27). Little he may be, but his dark eyes and tightly curled hair give him an intimidating look. His demeanor is tough and conceited like. Although, the workers definitely have their opinions they keep their mouths shut because they know Curley can, and will, get them fired if they dare talk back.

Curley's Wife is a young and pretty women. She has blonde curly hair and she is a keeper. But she has been giving signals to the other workers of the ranch. Candy, one of the workers, has been a witness to her actions. He stated "I seen her give Slim the eye. Curley never seen it. An' I seen her give Carlson the eye."(Steinbeck 28). Curley's Wife seems like she is going to cause a lot of tension between our main protagonists due to the fact that Lennie is falling head over heels for Curley's wife.

Curley's wife is a young woman who, according to the workers, might have a thing for some of the workers. In chapter 2 the old man says, " ' I seen her give Slim the eye. Slim don't need to wear no high-heeled boots on a grain team. I seen her give Slim the eye. Curley never seen it. An' I seen her give Carlson the eye.' " (Steinbeck 28). Some of the other workers believe they she is a tart and clear out for twenty bucks. She has full, rouged lips and wide-spaced eyes with lots of make-up. Her fingernails had red nail polish on them, her hair is curled inn little clusters like sausages. She seems to be a person with lots of upkeep needed.

Curley is young, he has dark eyes and very tightly curled hair. His father was the "Boss man", he and his father both wore high heeled boots. "He's a lightweight, and he's handy"(Steinbeck 26) Curley is a very thin man and he has been in the "ring" a few times. He has a problem with bigger people. "….I don't like mean little guys" (Steinbeck 27) His co-workers aren't very fond of Curley due to his rudeness, and urges to fight everyone. Little as he is, people are intimidated by him. " He just don't give a damn." (Steinbeck 27) Curley is known to be inconsiderate towards others, while being very unforgiving. He and his wife just got married, and due to the marriage he has been more inconsiderate and cocky.

Curly is a young handy worker on the ranch, who is the son of the boss. He's a small man with a short temper. He is very defensive of himself and his wife. His tone is very demanding and stern. He's always trying to pick a fight, but only because he's insecure about his image. "He's alla time picking scraps with big guys. Kind of like he's mad at em' because he ain't a big guy" (Steinbeck 26). He gets away with being the mean to all the other workers because he's the bosses son. "He just don't give a damn. Won't ever get canned' cause his old man's the boss" (Steinbeck 27). Curley has a big ego, especially because he got married to Candy. He seems like he's going to cause trouble for all the characters later on in the story.

As it shows in chapter 2, Curley isn't liked at all, " 'Don't let him pull you in-but-if the son-of-a-bitch socks you-let 'im have it' " (Steinbeck 30). As you can see Curley was not liked and he is always trying to pick a fight, with everyone.

Slim is the one in charge in the grain teams. He wears blue jeans and a short denim jacket. He's a jerk line skinnier. His hatchet face was ageless. He's either in his mid thirties or he's around fifty years old. He's nice and his voice is very gentle. Slim at times gets "the eye" from Curley's wife. Slim is friendly and he's not as rude as Curley. In chapter 2 The Boss states, " '… Go on out with the grain teams after dinner. They're pickin' up barely at the threshing machine. Go out with Slim's team.' " (Steinbeck 22) . There are different teams for different jobs on the ranch but, Slim is the one mainly in charge for the grain team. Slim has a girl dog who had nine puppies but she couldn't take care of all of them so, slim drowned four go them. He doesn't know if they are shepherds or some other type of dog.

He listens to know what everyone is doing what there suppose to do or wants to know the gossip, " 'I didn't hear nothing you guys were saying'. I ain't interested in nothing you was sayin'. A guy on a ranch don't never listen nor he don't ask no questions' "(Steinbeck 24). His dog is "drag footed sheep dog, gray of muzzle,with pale, blind old eyes" (Steinbeck 24). He relies on his dog and his dog relies on him to see. Old man's only company and that who understands him is his dog. " 'That's a hell of an old dog.
