1.How do developmental scientists study people? Scientists use the scientific method which consists of 5 steps: identify a problem, research, form a hypothesis, observe, and draw a conclusion.
What are some advantages and disadvantages of each research method? Scientific method advantage: researchers use to identify a problem. Helps validate the assumptions that are being made. Disadvantages: means only one of many different approaches would be valid.
Human growth advantages:utilizes the scientific method to conduct research. Disadvantages: It is a bit more complex.
2. What ethical problems may arise in research with humans? Different researchers with different methods used, results from the research in the field of human development

1. What purposes do theories serve? Developmental theories Is Is a study to focus on the progressive changes that occurs as an organism develops. It is used to organize and explain data and generate hypothesis that can be tested by research.
2.What are two theoretical issues on which developmental sciences differ? Cross sectional – Comparing sampling and different age groups, taking a section across the spectrum.
Longitudinal – Tess the same group of participants at the same age from the cross-sectional, which examines people overtime.
