People though when given power sometimes put those struggles behind them because they enjoy the power. In a book I was asked to read last year it talked on the holocaust. Few Jews were given power in the camps but the ones that were turned on their people. They no longer cared that they were killing the people that had taken them in, had grown up with the same beliefs. Men when given power loose themselves if not kept in check. Though with power you can’t relate to many people so it can’t keep you down to earth and bad things could happen. When people receive power, they can act in many different ways. Some people go power hungry, striving for more power while others may respect the power they were given. I will write about the kind of power that is over people; it is also known as political power. 
When you are a leader over people, you have some pressure on you, due to the fact that you are having the lives of others to account for. As people historically have coped and dealt with this pressure over time after being appointed with very little or no warning, they tend to settle into their power a little bit too much to the point of forgetting the pressure and they end up abusing their powers for their own pleasures and interests. The way you deal with it shows your character and personality. When someone is faced with adversity they have to face the consequences of yourself and others, it is humbling to face adversity. A man with a lot of power think that everything can be done for them and that certain struggles don't apply to him.
