The category that suits my answer is social limitation. On page 15, it states, "The demons, it seemed, were determined to cut down on the number of Tang people living on the Golden Mountain." This quote proves the category of social limitation because the "demons" are being unfriendly to the Tang people, and they treat them like animals, locking them in warehouses. Moon Shadow also sees the demons as prisoners. The category that fits this answer is environment. On page 16, it states again, "The little boxlike houses seemed so drab to me that I even felt sorry for the demons who lived in them, for they lived like prisoners without knowing they were in a prison." This quote proves the category of environment because Moon Shadow is observing the demon's houses, and he thinks that the houses are strange. Since his surroundings are unfamiliar to him, it makes Moon Shadow feel uncomfortable in that area. This can be his first experience of social limitations. According to page 15, it states "They tried to trip me up so they could prove I was not my father's son, but they did not succeed." The "demons" had tried tricking him, it is very serious to trick someone to not be their real father's son, this is very unwelcoming. The "demons" barely want Moon Shadow to come into the land, this evidence would support social limitations.
Moon Shadow thinks the "demons" in the land of the Golden Mountain were dangerous since they threw a brick into through the window at night. For example in page 37, it states "The left window have been broken and the glass lay scattered  across the floor. I was closest to the right window when the brick came through it. I stared at the brick as it slid across the clean, worn, wooden floor, and at the glass that scattered about my feet." This show this is his first time facing a social limitation because the White Demons are not being welcoming to Moon Shadow by trying to prove that he isn't who they think he is. This quote proves that the demons are unwelcoming since Moon Shadow did not under stand what the demons are saying, and they don't know if what the demons are saying is good or bad. On page 73,it states, "'know where there's a garage?'the demon finally asked. Father only grunted.His eyes were shining. He had hardly heard the demon until the demon tapped him on the shoulder. 'You sabe me?Garage. Repair my Oldsmobile.' As happens sometimes between two people speaking different languages, the demon had begun to shout at Father as if Father were deaf and the demon could make his words better understood by being loud."
