However, with development in the city, the middle class began to grow increasing the prices of housing. However, another economic consequence is how income disparity is increasing and the income gap is increasing with it.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Due to the rapid development and growing population, Shanghai struggles with air pollution and water pollution. Specifically, high AQI, fog, lakes and rivers getting clogged by garbage, which is limiting visibility and outdoor activities. The pollution is hazardous to human and it can have long term affects on the citizens and the environment. Research also shows that sea level rise, erosion, dredging, and the construction of water storage infrastructure have all contributed to wetland loss in Shanghai.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The government hopes that developing integrated clusters of cities rather than simply focusing new infrastructure investments will alleviate pressure on overcrowded cities like Shanghai. Shanghai has unveiled urban plans that involve capping the size of their cities by 2020. To help with this idea, the Chinese government’s plan also proposed to integrate smaller cities and towns together into new city structures, hoping to draw rural migrants away from those already struggling with large populations.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Shanghai is one of the fastest developing cities in the world. Shanghai was originally a small agricultural village, and it began to develop during the late Qing dynasty (1644–1912) as one of China's principal trading ports. Then in the 19<sup>th</sup> century it started rapidly developing. During the process of developing, new infrastructures, transportation methods were created, the city became more and more prosperous. The population also increased with the increasing number job opportunities and&nbsp;in 2019 Shanghai has a population of 26.32 million. With all this growth, not only comes with benefits but also numerous consequences. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>]]></description>
