         <description><![CDATA[<div>- mix marriages and the parents' common language for communication is English.<br>-Greek is not a very easy language to learn.<br>-Kids have many activities and parents sometimes do not have the time to help them with their Greek learning experience.<br>Multilingualism: some of the students are learning Greek as a 3rd or 4th foreign language.<br>- Parents are very busy with their lives. Sometimes they do not have the time to help their kids. </div>]]></description>

Some consider that they have to send the children to Greek school as they are Greek but do not want to be responsible for their progress.<br>4. Some parents are not given the chance from the school or teacher to be involved&nbsp;<br>5. Some parents consider other extra curriculum activities are more important to Greek School<br>6. Some parents are disengaged as they don't consider the Teacher has the appropriate education but they leave their children at school as they have no other options&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Parents may not wish to participate in their childs learning BUT there are the grandparents that pay tuition and sit down with their grandchild to teach them the Greek language.&nbsp;<br><br>Teacher maybe assigns A LOT of homework and parents may not understand and dont feel comfortable asking the teacher, OR maybe they do not have much time in the week to help their child.&nbsp;<br><br>In families there are both parents that assist their children and families that one parent that is STRONG in the Greek Language.<br><br>Parents that do not participate in their childs learning in the Greek language, theres a possibility that they do not participate in their learning in the English language. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Parent involvement / reluctancy…&nbsp;</div><div>Possible <mark>reasons of parent lack of involvement</mark>: lack of interest, insufficient knowledge of the language, being busy, tired, having other priorities for their kids…</div><div>We talked about making use of: <mark>online learning throughout the week</mark>, whereas the student is enticed to visit daily and not just on the night before class and of: <mark>online parent access to follow their kid’s progress</mark> at their convenience, in the english language.<br>Teacher should <mark>communicate to parents</mark> the importance of learning another language, the importance of always trying to excel in everything we are involved and that it's ok if they can't help with the language personally, a genuine show of interest and asking "what did you learn?" goes a long way.</div>]]></description>
