We started by clarifying the term 'dynamics' in music before starting the lesson. Some children played a few instruments and as a class we had to suggest which colour it makes us think about with reasons why. We talked about how different colours can promote the same feelings or emotions for different people.

We then played 'From Now On' from The Greatest Showman and talked about how at different points of the song, we might feel different ways and different colours might be revealed as the pace, dynamic and instruments change and are introduced.

Children then produced a graphic score using colours and some patterns to reflect the piece of music.

We then continued to practise playing a piece of music on the glockenspiel.
