While I do not think it is ethical to switch the trolley to kill one person over five, I do think it would have been the better choice in this instance given that he was farther than the group of five and possibly could have seen the trolley and avoided it. Thinking about this situation outside of those involved also leans towards one death having a "better" outcome than one person because it would only be one family grieving, one death to cover expenses on, and one less worker in the trolley company vs several families, expenses, and lost workers. While I do not think it is ethical, pushing someone in front of the trolley to save five others will produce the same outcome as the instance of switching direction, which would have a less "impactful" aftermath. My answer would certainly be the opposite if someone I was directly related to or knew closely was the one singled out in this situation, as I care about them more than I do a stranger therefore the choice of sacrifice would be far more difficult. This ties into the moral spheres charts as I have a higher ethical consideration about those in my closer rings while I was okay with sacrificing someone I didn't know whom would be in my farther darker rings.

The Truth About Animal Testing(PETA)-A very popular connection that can be tied to the concept of moral spheres is animal testing. Several medicines, makeup, and other companies use animal testing to test their products to ensure the safety of their customers. Most companies do not care for these animals and run these tests to make sure that if there is a negative outcome like bad reactions or the product simply not working that it will not affect their consumers which would result in a loss of money for the company.

I would not change the report to get rid of tank 2 because that would allow for the client to move forward with creating the mall and the harmful toxins within the tank would be exposed to several people and affect their health in severe ways such as death. Although my boss is attempting to sway me with several upgrades and bonuses, that sacrifice does not ethically comply with my morals and much rather makes me question the company I represent.
2. Scientist and engineers are fully responsible for term consequences of the technology they created because as the creators of these powerful products the risks need to be cared for just as much as the benefits it brings to society. By putting out a product that can cause a lot of harm it is important to control who can access it. For example, certain medicines can only be prescribed guns can only be sold to those with a license, etc.
3. Medium-low risk is the most acceptable as a means of continuing in technology and science. It is hard to achieve a 0% level of risk let alone a low level but as long as the scientist and engineers have done their jobs to explore these possible risks and outweighed higher risk options and take the right precautions medium-low risk is acceptable

It's implicating patients in recovery(Fierce HealthCare)

Covid-19 gave thousands of people easy access to prescribed medications without noted cause as they didn't have to schedule appointments in person. This has led to a spike in access and overdoses to these controlled drugs. While these substances are created to follow Cicero's Creed, the abuse and easy access by consumers is creating an instance of dual use leading to health risks and death. For example Fentanyl is a common opioid used for pain but is often abused to feed addiction and fuel a high. The medical specialists working at Walmart are holding their responsibility as apart of the drug abuse by denying these prescriptions.

The authors then argue that by legalizing prostitution, women's safety would be regulated as well as support systems. This connects to the lecture as many of the audience members argued that selling kidneys would in turn have bad consequences for those of different economic statuses. The speaker then eliminated those consequences by giving a utopia where these things would not happen therefore eliminating all consequences that were thought of. Similarly, legalizing prostitution and instilling regulations for safety would minimize rising issues. This article also connects to the concept of market societies as money and thinking have invaded life in ways as personal as intimacy.

Exercise:
1. The definition of justice is to treat equals equally
2. I believe that society is an array of just and unjust and it ultimately depends on your social and/or economic status which isn't very just as a whole.
3. In my opinion justice looks like fair treatment of everyone with consideration to their circumstances (Rawls) for example arresting a police officer that wrongfully murdered someone Injustice looks like one being treated unfairly because of their circumstance and choices like a police officer not being arrested because they are above the law and receive excuses like self-defense or getting off easier on probation or lighter sentences compared to a regular civilian convicted for murder with larger sentences.
Reflect:
The bias demonstrated in the articles seems to be the inconsideration of minorities. Both black people and women are considered minorities in a world controlled by white males. Therefore, when new studies and technologies are put into place the sciences and considerations behind them only cater to their needs. I feel this is because white males are the majority of high level producers and they are also the stakeholders so the inconsideration o minorities doesn't affect their products being put into the market and having appeal

Trayvon Martin was a young teenage boy UNARMED returning from the convenience store with skittles and iced tea. He was confronted by police officer George Zimmerman and ultimately shot and killed. 3 years later, due to a "lack of evidence" to bring civil rights charges against George Zimmerman and his final consequence was 12 years of probation and a not guilty verdict. Zimmerman claimed that he defense and that he was attacked by Martin and his evidence was a picture he took of himself with blood running down his nose. This evidence shouldn't have been used because it was a sort of bias as no cameras were around to even prove that Martin, a teenage boy, was the cause of this. Murdering a child who should have never even been suspected in the first place is morally wrong and his family was not served justice by allowing Zimmerman to roam free. There are several cases of police brutality that have failed to give justice to families.

This is a political cartoon that spoke very powerfully to me as you can see a black couple at the bank needing to apply for a loan. The loan officer they are waiting to speak with is wearing a KKK mask which may be over dramatic in the real world today because redlining is done "legally" by finding ways around the previously enforced law against redlining. This cartoon connects to the media from this lecture as they are most likely going to be denied this resource of getting al loan because of the color of their skin forcing them to have to live somewhere with low prices commonly with other minorities which will increase environmental injustice.
