I think their is a butterflies and rainbows stigma about relationships with parents or partners. But, it never really cracks the surface on the behind the scene emotions. There is good and bad, and feelings that you will never forget even if the relationship ends. which I tried to illustrate with the words and colors in the poem below. 1. You should never make yourself feel uncomfortable, trying to make someone else feel comfortable.
2. Do not ever apologize for being yourself.
3. Money can't buy you happiness.
4. whatever your dealing with someone else is dealing with it ten times worse.
5. Silence is more powerful than arguing or fighting.
6. take advantage of every opportunity you get small or large, they all are important.
7. someone else is not always to blame in a two- sided conflict.
8. communication makes everything better.
9. always listen to your gut feeling, not what others think you should do or even you think you should do. your gut is always right.
10. never settle for good always strive for greatness.

I chose to pick these pieces of advice to help the main character, Jade with future conflict and issue with herself and others. I wrote them based off what she could have done better when dealing with issues in the story. Jade and Sam wen to the mall to look around. While Jade was looking around a store clerk asked her if she was not buying anything, she would have to leave the store and sit outside. This was completely racist and unfair because Jade saw a bunch of white women doing the same thing she was doing and not getting in trouble.
