 For example, in my personal experience, when I learned to sing I did not take classes on how singing was done. I listened to what I liked then I would try to sing it. By observing what did and did not sound good I could adjust my voice to become a better singer. 

Another example is when my friends and I learned to dance. We did not listen to theories about the history of dance, we watched videos of certain steps then tried them ourselves. You cannot learn by just playing. 

An example of this would be back in elementary school the teacher would provide centers that would go along with the lesson that they are teaching. The child cannot go learn the lesson by the center alone, but it will help engage them into the lesson. 
Another example would be when I was trying to learn how to cook this past summer from my granny. No matter how many times I would try and do it, the recipe would not come out right. It is very helpful to work with someone when learning something new. You can compare notes, experiences, and other information that the other person has. 
I have experienced this type of learning a whole lot, if not everyday. My roommate and I are always working together to get things done, or learn how to do something new. Even if it is just learning how to put something together or make a new dish for dinner.
I think a good comparison to this would be in school when you have a research product and you have a partner on that project. I think a personal example of this for me would be, back in middle school when learning a new subject the teacher would explain things in a new way that made it look very simple, but when I saw it in another way, I was confused on how to do it.

No matter what it is we are looking to fulfill goals everyday. 
Some examples of this would be, for me, trying to succeed in every class that I take. I make a goal every morning to set aside a particular amount of time to focus on a certain class. Even if that class does not meet that day I will try to meet that goal for that day.
I think another way that I practice this type of learning is, I try to set aside a time in the day to do something for me. It may not be anything big, maybe it is just enough time to calm down and listen to music, or read a few chapters of a book or something.
