Next month I turn 16 and my parents have agreed to match the $3,000 I have saved, so that I will have a budget of $6,000 to purchase my first car. Considering I don't have a steady income, I earn money tending to lawns over the summers, I have decided to buy a used car that can be paid in full so I don't have to worry about a monthly payment. I need to use algebra to create a budget that allows me to plan for any needs of the vehicles I am interested in buying to establish how much money I truly have to spend in the moment, and how much I need to save in anticipation for care and repair in the future.
