The greatest benefit is if you don't understand something you are able to ask questions and get feedback from the instructor and the other students without having to wait for an email. Also, seeing your classmates is a plus as well.  I would highly recommend campus connect.

I like the Campus Connect better because of the interactions with the classmates and instructors are helpful. I believe that students become familiar with each other, which makes it more comfortable to reach out if there are any doubts. I find it interesting to take classes with students in different states. We will meet at our regular time--12 Central (That is 1 pm for Florida students). You will click on my the following link at our regular time. I will be live online for class and those who need to work on the papers can still do so with me live. You will still get your live points, too! Just be sure and log in and attend!
