In Estonia we have to teach some computing but every school desides how, what and when. Student use computers for school (in my opinion) very little. Usually children learn about different software in grades 5 or 6 (ages 11-12). Very few schools teach coding and programming and then also in high school.

I teach computing (mostly MS Office) in grade 5, I started with internet safety. I think children have so much possibilitys online but have lack of knolage about safety or politeness in internet.

How about a cake?

With hard cookies (square shaped). You give them things (cookies, cream, sour cream, jam, decorating things) and they have to think what kind and what shape of cake to make. They have to communicate in their group, they have to give dasks, break up a bigger task into smaller etc.

I have two cute little girls at home, who remind me that there is more in life then school.

My husband sometimes says that I sometimes forget that there is a big world beside school. :D

I teach mathematics, physics and some CS (mostly MS Office).

In school I use tablets more and more often. Kahoot mostly. Students love it.

It is in estonian and in my blog, but maybe

I will have some time to translate it sometimes.

Also I as a teacher can see how they work with others. It´s usually easier to do everything alone but they have to learn how to work

with others because most of they will not work in the future alone in a gave.

I also think, that girls are interesting. But maybe most girls are not open to try theirown, 

And also girls are more selfcritical and afraid of failure.

I agree that too many things are made too girlly and pink - for some it equals toddlers or not so smart girls.

I think you can engage girls by showing them what and how they can too.

As with boys - first something easier and fun- like Scrats and then why not app inventor?!

In Estonia every 8.th grader has to do a creative work. 

And I thought I will present theme: Learning Apps for Preschoolers. 

Not with LearningApps but with MIT App Creator. Hopefully someone picks that theme.

I also started MIT App Creator´s learning in my class, 

so they will create an app for calculating - a test.

I have never used robots or even never seen one. But I think you can use robots in calculating.

Or maybe in tests:

You have a question and 4 possible anwsers. When student anwser, robot will go to right anwser (A B C D are on floor)? Maybe something like that.

She really liked it and even my 4 year old tried.

But Scratch don´t have share button yet, I filmed it with my phone.

I haven´t designed a website with students, haven´t had that change.

We have used Google search but haven´t explore how it works.

But we have used Padlet, that can be seen as webpage.

I have a blog but again haven´t used it with students.

I teach some computer scients but it´s more about Office.

I think that first talk about Esafety should be at the moment teacher or parent gives tablet/ smartphone/ computer to a kid.

As time goes by, we should talk more and more accurated about it.

I have address these topics in fifth grade (youngest I teach) as a class teacher or computer teacher.

We talk about what and how to post, "bad" people on web.
