1. Even if science isn't one of your favourite subjects, you should still care about your assignments and make sure they were done properly. Double check your work not only for flaws in grammar but look at the content as well. Makes sure you've effectively communicated what you want to say and your reasoning makes sense.
2. Don't be afraid to give it a try. Assignments may seem like daunting tasks, but don't feel like you can't do it. Don't think of yourself as stupid or like you shouldn't take hours on a project. Sometimes spending a lot of time gets you good grades

Take some time choosing a topic you're interested in. It might be hard at first to choose the perfect topic. But in the end, it will all be worth it. Choosing the right topic will motivate you to work on your ISI! Moreover, pay attention to little details.
Lastly, do not procrastinate. You probably heard this from a lot of people and you're probably thinking to yourself 'of course I won't procrastinate' but you never know :)

Do something that you enjoy doing, like hobbies. Even if the topic seems like it has nothing to do with science, you can still find some scientific reasoning behind your topic and hypothesis. Do NOT push to do things later, even if the due date seems very far away. Always prepare for the chance for your experiment may go wrong and having to change your whole topic. Use the yellow packet and follow the schedule that is on the paper. Look over the rubric and check to see if you have everything you need.

1) Make sure you don't procrastinate. 8th grade is the year that you should start to manage your time. If you don't start managing your time now, you're never going to manage it. You CANNOT succeed. EVER.
2) Use your rubric. Your rubric's going to be your best friend in every summative. Especially ISI. You do everything the rubric tells you, you are going to succeed.
3)Enjoy 8th grade science as much as you can. Remember, it's never going to come back. Enjoy Ms.Kim and science as much as possible.

Good Luck. YOLO;)
