Project Composite Photo: Whale in the City

The reason why I chose whale and the city because I always thought whale is a like the coolest water creature that ever existed, I mean there are plenty more creatures but what's special about whales is that they use sound to function in many ways. They can even identify a surrounding objects by making a sound waves called clicks to differentiate an object's shape, and they also use this sound to differentiate between friendly creatures and predator. It has always been known that no whales have ever hurt human before. And this is why I chose whale and the city because it kind of represents its kindness to friendly creatures and human as well. In this picture the whale swimming around the city is kind of scary if I must say but I actually wanted to interpreted this image as a city that is guarded as the giant creature with the kindest heart. I got another inspiration from one of the game I used to play. In the game where whale are considered as the strongest creature, if anyone reaches the whale effects in the game, they are considered very strong in strength, so I took the inspiration from that concept as well.

Paint Project: Hannya in Samurai Armor

This is one of my paint project. I will start a little bit about the background of the concept I have. The mask on the samurai is called "Hannya" mask. The story behind this mask is about a jealousy woman who was betrayal by her lover until this jealousy demon takes control over her body full of vengeance and grudge, to satisfy her grudge, she kills people and eat them. This is one part of the story from a Japanese folk tales. Although the mask sounds very frightening and dangerous,
but somehow behind this terrifying truth, it represents great despairs of a woman who live in misery and got tormented and totally lose her life over jealousy. This may only sounds like a story but it did represent women as we have mostly seen in real world. And for the reason I chose to draw Hannya Mask with a samurai armor is because samurai also wears demon mask. Although the mask are not the same. Samurai is well respected warrior and also one of a powerful member of military class, they are the third powerful rank in the feudal system after supreme military leader 'Shogun'. Samurai were first created in Edo period (17th century), and the main purpose they wore demon mask in the battle is protection, another is to intimidated their enemies. From what I have in movie and some story, they are one of the strongest, most fierce, and also the most vicious warrior in history. That is why I made the Hannya in Samurai Armor to indicate that no matter how defeat a woman can be, they always have this warrior in their souls that are unbeatable despite situation they are facing.
