Firstly, art galleries and museums should have an entrance fee to ensure that there is enough money for the founder to pay the workers such as artists, sculptors and managers and to keep the museums or galleries in the best condition. For example, if there are less disruptions caused in the galleries or museums, people would be encouraged to visit and support them.

Secondly, most activities in life has a price to pay, such as daily activities like shopping and eating. In this case, art pieces in galleries have certain value to them and they should be appreciated by paying money to enter.

However, the entrance fee might have an impact on people with lower socio-economic status as they will be restricted to enter those places. For example, young children might be interested to visit art galleries to pursue their career for art but they will face financial issues due to the entrance fee. This will reduce the number of people entering the galleries and museums which in turn decreases the amount of people appreciating the art pieces or artefacts. Thus, this does not serve the purpose of galleries and museums as the public cannot have easy access for them to take a look.

I agree. As it is not worth it to spend a sum of money to look as paintings, unless the person really appreciates art. To me, I can paint my own work and appreciate it as long as I want for free. Its just that the paintings in the art gallery have more effort put into them

I feel that having to pay for the entrance fees in museum brings about positive and negative impact on different people.

A positive impact is that the money collected from the entrance fees can be collated and be used to maintain the condition of the artworks. This then allows more people to appreciate the beautiful art pieces by maintaining it at top condition. Morovere, once the artpieces turn old due to the lack of maintainence, the artwork can never be ‘duplicated’. Therefore it is very important to maintain the priceless artpieces.

The negative impact of having to pay to go art galleries and museums is that people that are in the lower class are unable to see and learn how to aprreciate such artworks.

We agree that art galleries entries should be free of charge because it can help encourage and promote these aesthetic exhibitions. Many families could have misunderstood going to museums and art galleries as something done by aristocratic wealthy families or as boring field trips led by primary school teachers. Making entries free encourages families especially those who may not have been able to enjoy the luxury of paying for the entry tickets for the entire family just for some abstract art pieces where normal non art students will not understand, to go and enjoy the artistic features. Moreover, it can promote more students to be more interested in art as a subject they can understand and having entries free of charge meant that students are able to enter the museums and art galleries at any time which will also help them with inspirations for their own work in the future. As having free of charge entries to art galleries and museums can help in many different manners from financially and socially to studies. Therefore we agree that the entries to museums and art galleries should be free of charge.

In my opinion, art galleries should not allow free entry, as the art gallery show cases local art works. These art works have take artists time and inspiration which shouldn't be let to go to waste. To show appreciation to the artist, the locals can pay a small amount for the entrance fee. Although at the start the art gallery can start of without much entrance fee to publicize the local artist. After the local artist gains some recognition then people would feel that going to the gallery would be worth it as the artist is good.

Although in museums I feel that we shouldn't have to pay entrance fees, as this gives the locals the chance to learn about their own country and understand what it has been through. If museums were to have fees at the entrance it discourages normal local people from coming. Only museum enthusiasts would be interested in going.

I would like to agree that no one should have to pay to go to art galleries and museums to some extent.
For the argument of not having to pay for the entrance fees, I feel that everyone deserves to have a look at the some of the professional art pieces and appreciate art through art exhibits no matter the economic status. This can benefit especially those who cannot afford to attend art lessons and would like to use art as a skill to help them in future.
However, I am leaning towards the side of having to pay for the entrance fees. Firstly, artists behind the paintings and art pieces showcased in the art museums have to put in the time and extra effort to come up with a theme, plan and execute it. So it would be nice if we show some appreciation and worth in their art pieces if we pay the entrance fees. Yes, if there is no entrance fees, more people are able to enter and appreciate the artists' art pieces. However, having more people in art museums can come with its cons as the place may become overcrowded and they may be unable to facilitate a big crowd, also, it may lead to increase in litter in the exhibits or mischievous people vandalising the art works, making it harder to maintain an art museum or art gallery.

I think that no one has to pay to go to art galleries. Art is something to be appreciated by everyone no matter how old or young you are. The standard tickets to art museums are normally very high priced therefore it is not affordable for lower income families.

HOWEVER... the paintings are hard work made by the artists and are deserved to be paid for. The musuem will also need to pay for bills and money to buy new artworks from artists so that viewers can enjoy them.
By not paying money to view the artworks the musuem may not have enough income to manage the gallery and provide suffiecient needs to manage the artworks. There fore i feel that people should pay to view artworks

I personally think that people should pay for their visit to the art musuem as those artist put in their effort to create such masterpiece presented in the museum, entrance fees is needed to maintain a comfortable environment for us view those arts.

However, people that feel they should not pay for entrance fees is also partially correct. Since it is needed to pay for entrance, people will be unwilling to go to an art exhibition.

I think that it is reasonable for museum and art galleries to charge visitors entrance fees as the entrance fees collected will help to ensure that there will be sufficient funding to maintain the art works and management of the museum. At the same time improvements and more exhibitions can be made with more fundings received from the collections of entrance fees.
