         <description><![CDATA[<div>By: Nat&nbsp;<br>After his previous battles, Beowulf returns home and beocmes the kind of the Geats.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;Fifty years pass with Beowulf leading as a wise king, when a local dragon is angered when a slave enters its lair and takes a cup from its treasure. The creature attacks! Beowulf and a troop of men (the Geats) leave to find the dragon’s lair. The Geats run away in fear, leaving only Beowulf and his young companion Wiglaf to slay the dragon. Beowulf receives a fatal wound from the dragon, but Wiglaf impales the dragon’s belly to reduce the flames, and Beowulf deals the fatal blow. In his death-speech, Beowulf nominates Wiglaf as his heir, and that of the treasure.</div>]]></description>

In the story Beowulf executes acts of bravery and is  an incredible hero. He and his men also brag abut there ability's and their sucese. Because of this they are allowed to slay the monsters that are in the epic. Both of these acts in the story are based of of the pagan and germanic religion. Both religions valued hero's who were honerble and brave. They used boastfulness as a way to hold them self's accountable for there actions. It was there way of insuring honesty.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Grendel comes to Heorot and barges in. He eats a sleeping Geat. When grabbing for Beowulf, Beowulf grabs Grendel, and Grendel notices that his strength is stronger than he's seen from anyone before. With Grendel's protection against swords, Beowulf uses  his hands to rip Grendel's arm and shoulder from its socket. The monster flees back to the swamp to die, while Beowulf hangs the arm in the rafters as a trophy.</div>]]></description>
