I feel like Cal never really "helped" Donny, I think was was more of a a friend that was a bad influence, but I think if Donny and Cal met earlier and he became his tutor that all the events leading to the end would'be just happened faster and it could've turned out worse. -Wyllow

Cal never really helped, so I feel that Donny would've probably started acting out earlier. Cal was more of a bad friend then helped Donny with anything

I think that if Cal worked with Donny one-on-one on ways to build his self-esteem and equip Donny with ways to handle adversity, it would have resulted in better results

I think that he expressed himself to Cal and Cal was trying to be more than a friend and that's what influenced it. I don't Donny's sister was scared because she was following in his footsteps and not being home as much as she should. -Wyllow

I think the alcohol was a thing of the time, and that it was easy to acquire. It is also a way that teens feel can be used to cope with the struggles of life. Donny may have been introverted and keeping to himself led to his alcohol use.

as someone with adhd and other mental disorders i think when Donny ran away he wouldve went to a friends house or smthign like that because i know how hard it is for someone with adhd to be alone for extended periods of time its hard and not somthing you want to do so i think he wouldve went to someones house or somwhere with a few people there constantly

Who would you blame for Donny's actions?

I would blame his parents, as it feels evident that they do not pay attention to their child. And are disregarding signs of him having ADHD. As well to blame is the school as they hadn't seen the signs in Donny.
